Scratchy wool sweater
The trick to make our knits become velvety soft
I have had a sweater in my closet for years that I love incredibly but never wear.
The reason is the material, which is of high quality but unfortunately scratches the skin a lot. I don't want to forego comfort, especially when it comes to sweaters.
The remedy is to provide a simple washing tip that makes scratchy knits velvety soft.
After a self-test with vinegar and conditioner, I am thrilled. Both ensure velvety fibers, try it yourself!
Put cold water in a bowl (enough to soak your sweater in it) and add 2-3 tablespoons of light vinegar. Mix well.
Dip the sweater in the vinegar water. The sweater should now be completely covered with water and soaked. Now wring it out and place it on a towel to dry something.
Take a good conditioner and massage it into the damp sweater. The rope should not be stretched. After 30 minutes of exposure, you can rinse the conditioner well with cold water and wring it out.
Put the sweater back on a dry towel and let it dry completely.
The dry sweater is now placed in a sealable plastic bag and stored in the freezer overnight. The next morning you can wear your velvet sweater.
